Published by

Blowjobs are a form of oral sex performed on a man. It does not matter what gender performs the blowjob, as long as the receiver is a male it is called a blowjob. The scientific term for a blowjob is ‘fellatio’. The word fellatio stems from a Latin word meaning to suck which is an accurate description.

Fellatio is where the man’s partner use their mouth to stimulate his penis. Despite the slang term ‘blowjob’, it does not involve any blowing but mostly sucking.

Normally the woman will put the man’s penis inside her mouth and move her head up and down the penis’ shaft while gently sucking. This will produce intensely pleasurable sensations for the male at the mouth is warm and wet.  If the penis goes too deep into the mouth, it can cause a gag reflex which can be very unpleasant. For this reason the man should keep still in a passive way and resist the desire to thrust his penis into his partner’s mouth.

When his partner allows his penis to penetrate past the uvula into the throat, it is called deep throating. Not all woman can do this without a severe gag reaction and even partners that can do this can only do this some times and for a short period at a time. The length of the mouth is between 4 and 5 inches (10 to 13 cm). The average penis length is just short of 6 inches (15 cm). By straightening out the mouth and throat, the partner can lengthen the available length that can be taken in the mouth. Deep throating is extremely pleasurable for the man receiving the blowjob.

The blowjob can be stopped before the man ejaculates or can be taken to its full conclusion where the man ejaculates in his partner’s mouth. If the man is allowed to ejaculate into his partner’s mouth, the next decision to be made is if the partner will swallow the ejaculate or spit it out.

The partner can feel when the man is about to ejaculate. His penis will get extra stiff just before orgasm. This is because more blood is allowed into the penis and then trapped. When this happens, the mans partner have a few choices: pull the penis out of the mouth, only allowing shallow thrusting into the front of the mouth or squeezing the man’s urethra where it exits the mans body to prevent the ejaculate from coming out and causing the ejaculate to flow back into his bladder (retrograde ejaculation). The place to press is just below his balls on the perineum (between his balls/penis and his anus. This will effectively stop him from ejaculating into his partner’s mouth.

Semen from a healthy male is not harmful, unhealthy or fattening (approx 15 calories) to his partner is any way. It is about a teaspoon in volume and is contains:

Health Dangers

Chlamydia, human papillomavirus (HPV), gonorrhea, herpes, hepatitis (multiple strains), and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) — including HIV — can be transmitted through oral sex. The risk from most of these types of infection, however, is generally considered far less than that associated with vaginal or anal sex.

If the receiving partner has wounds or open sores on their genitals, or if the giving partner has wounds or open sores on or in their mouth, or bleeding gums, this poses an increased risk of STD transmission. Brushing the teeth, flossing, undergoing dental work, or eating crunchy foods such as chips relatively soon before or after giving oral sex can also increase the risk of transmission, because all of these activities can cause small scratches in the lining of the mouth. These wounds, even when they are microscopic, increase the chances of contracting STDs that can be transmitted orally under these conditions. Such contact can also lead to more mundane infections from common bacteria and viruses found in, around, and secreted from the genital regions.

Choices that needs to be made before fellatio by the man and his partner:

  • Position: Partner kneeling in front of the man or laying on top of him. This decision has great phsycological repercussions as it can put the man in a superior position if his partner kneels in front of him.
  • Depth: Just the penis’ head or deep throat
  • Thrusting by the man: Allowed or not
  • Finishing: Ejaculate – swallow or spit, or no ejaculation

Another form of oral sex on a man is called irrumato. Irrumato is when the man actively thrust into his partner’s mouth. simulating intercourse.
