Types of Birth Control

There are different types of Birth Control available. Every woman should be able to find something that she can live with. The two opposite ends of Birth Control are

  • Abstinence (no sex at all), and
  • Full unprotected sex.

Only two birth control method are effective against Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs):

  • Latex Condoms, and
  • Abstinence.

All birth control methods are prone to failing. Humans are not perfect and these methods are often not used consistently and correctly. Two measures are used to measure a methods effectiveness:

  • Perfect Use – Use it every time exactly as directed
  • Typical Use – Statistics gathered from people using these methods.
