I saw white tissue in my period?

Published by

When you have your period, it is your uterus wall that is shedding. The uterus wall is filled with blood and it breaks up to produce the bloody flow you see every cycle. The cramps you experience is the uterus wall contracting to break loose the lining and dissolve it. The uterus wall also have chemicals that prevent the blood from clotting.

Some cycles you may have severe cramps and see some white spongy or skinny tissue, or even clots being passed. This is your uterus lining that is not fully breaking up and dissolving. There is no harm in this, even though it may frighten you when it happens. Most women will have this happen a few times in her life.
