Am I pregnant?

Published by

In order to get pregnant, you need a lot of healthy sperm and a live egg at the same time. A live egg is only present in the 24 hours after ovulation, and often not even for the full 24 hours.

Sperm will live in your fallopian tubes, waiting for your egg for 3 to 5 days. The most fertile times for sex are two or one day before ovulation.

The average women (95% of all women) ovulate 12 to 16 days before her next menstruation (average 14 days).

Even if you have sex at just the right time, at your most fertile, your chances of getting pregnant are only 30%. Put another way, if 3 couples try to make a baby this cycle, one couple will end up pregnant. or put yet another way, on average it takes 3 cycles on average to get pregnant.
